Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care
Insightful residential care focused on living well and meaningful connections.
We deliver residential care and support for elderly people who remain physically able but are also living with a form of Dementia such as Alzheimer’s. Increasingly, this form of care is provided in living environments specifically designed or adapted to meet the needs of people with Dementia – with specially designed signage to aid orientation, memory boxes to identify individuals’ rooms and open living areas for additional safety. Our Care staff in Residential with Dementia Care services have additional specialist training.
We have two Care Homes offering Dementia Care services:
- Linden Lodge Residential Home (Dordon, Tamworth)
- Linden Grange Residential Home (Hartshill, Nuneaton)
Dementia Care Homes: Frequently Asked Questions
Dementia care is specialist residential care and support for people living with a form of Dementia, including Alzheimer’s, Lewy body dementia, vascular dementia, and frontotemporal dementia. Dementia care is provided by carers who are experienced and trained in caring for someone with dementia that does not need nursing care.
There will be many things to consider when choosing a dementia care home; some of these will be initial practical considerations such as availability and location. Once potential homes have been identified, a visit or visits to the home will enable you to see what it’s like in person and ask more in-depth questions about what is on offer. Accreditation and dementia-specific training is important and information about that should be freely available.
Who pays for the care will depend on the person’s situation. It will usually be based on an assessment of their needs and their financial situation. For some people, the local authority or the NHS will pay some or all the care home fees, and others will need to pay themselves. Sometimes it may be a combination of both. Age UK has a wide variety of resources, fact sheets and guidance on funding the cost of care.
